FEES: AED 30 Derived from the Arabic word "zahab" meaning "gold", Tazhib (gilding) is the ancient art of creating beautiful patterns of plants or geometrical shapes to decorate the margins of books. Tazhib has been used throughout the ages to adorn religious, scientific, cultural, and historical books as well as collections of poems with beautiful patterns and in this workshop participants will have the chance to explore the fundamentals of this time-honoured art form. The workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn how to create beautiful gilded decorations and, while all material will be provided, are encouraged to bring their own cards or other texts to decorate, allowing them to produce beautifully unique and personal creations.
