1971- Design Space will be hosting an event with Bidwa, an entity under the Sharjah Business Women Council, where you can learn more about the project which Bidwa worked on with an artisan based in Dibba Al Hissn and designers at Academia Italian in Florence to make their runway collection.
Demonstration of Traditional Emirati Craft of Talli by Fatima Mahmoud ‘Umm Ahmed’

Umm Ahmed from Dibba Al Hisn has created ‘Talli’ since being a young girl, now in her sixties she will demonstrate how to create the craft of ‘Talli’ a technique of intertwining threads to form an intricate braid. As a skill normally passed down from generation to generation, this is a unique opportunity to meet one of the artisans of the region that practice these crafts.
