1971 - Design Space will host a workshop with the Italian artist Sara Berti to explore the techniques and potential of 3D drawing using the 3Doodler pen – the world's first 3D printing pen.
This tool allows its users to quickly and effectively construct self-supporting structures in plastic, offering a wide range of tones. It combines the traditional technique of drawing with the sculptural possibilities of plastic. The workshop would be of interest to designers as well as artists who want to explore the capabilities of this new tool.
The focus will be on how to use the new technology of the 3D printing pen in the arts and design in bi-dimensional and sculptural work. The participants will create patterns with arabesque and floral motives, which will then be added one to the other to collaboratively create a unique plastic carpet of medium to large dimensions that can be hung on the wall.
