Fish who is actually a genie, gives her three magical boxes as a reward. Come and see our show to find out what was hidden in the boxes!

‘Alia’ is an upcoming puppet theatre performance created as a result of an educational and artistic project collaborated by Jordanian artist Macadi Nahhas and Maqam Productions and realized by a team of international artists in cooperation with Heart of Sharjah. Although it is meant to be a fairy tale, it is not dedicated to children audience only.

Alia mixes several local Emirati inspirations - old stories, regional geography, traditions, music, folk culture. Moreover, it is using several kinds of puppet theatre techniques. You will be able to see hand puppets, shadow puppets and giant heads in one show. Performance, developed in four weeks residency of both Arabic and European puppeteers, brings unusual theatre practices into Sharjah and is a tribute to Arabic culture.
