Venue: Theatrical Association at the Heart of Sharjah
The participants will learn the techniques for making a variety of shadow puppets, use the puppets they make to explore shadow and light by using different kinds of lights. They will learn how to transform a story into shadow theatre scenes. Participants can work around a theme or story of their choice if suitable.
Age range: 15+ years old.
Steve Tiplady and Sally Todd
Indefinite Articles (since 1995), is an open theatre project that transforms ordinary objects and materials into innovative shows .for both children and adults Sally Todd is co-founder. She is a sculptor and a visual artist. She makes objects and installations and her recent work has also involved film. She designed several puppet performances. She is an experienced workshop leader, collaborating with educators to .support and develop children’s creativity Steve Tiplday is co-founder. He has been using puppetry in his work since 1989 He was artistic Director of The Little Angle Theatre 2004/5. He was puppet director on several renowned performances, and in various theatres in London. He is also an expert in shadow theatre. He is part of the creative team of Improbable Theatre that won Best Performance at the Cairo International Theatre for Experimental Theatre.
Macadi Nahhas’s puppetry workshops and performances are in collaboration with Maqam Productions.
