Maraya Art Centre and 1971 — Design Space are scheduled to take part in this year's Durar programme in Algeria and Tunisia. The Durar Programme, developed by Creative Dialogue Association (CDA), has been set up to foster creativity and technical knowledge in the field of contemporary design and crafts. This year's programme is divided into four pillars: Organisation and Management, Education and Training, Creative Industries, and Contemporary Art and Design. 1971- Design Space will be working in the Contemporary Art and Design Pillar. The programme, which is running from 6 - 7 December at Espacio Espana in Algeria and 9 - 10 December at La Maison Des Arts in Tunisia, is comprised of a series of panel discussions and workshops. The same schedule will be run at both events.
Maraya Art Centre's Director Giuseppe Moscatello will be participating in a panel discussion alongside Banafsajeel founder Noor Al-Dabbagh on day one of the programme, discussing the 'Role of Contemporary Art and Design in promoting Local Crafts'. Giuseppe will also join Mouza Al Matrooshi to conduct a workshop on 'Curating Contemporary Art and Design exhibitions'. On day two of the programme, Giuseppe will join Sana Tamzini for a round table discussion on 'Contemporary Art and Design'.
